All airline passengers know it can happen to them one day. Arriving at your destination, while your baggage does not. The European Parliament (EP) wants to compensate passengers for the delay of their baggage.
Since 7 years passengers have established rights when boarding is refused to them of when their flight is being cancelled. The European Commission is now asking the population what else can be improved with regards to airline travel. The European Parliament is of the opinion that in the case of considerable delay of baggage, financial compensation should be given. Nathalie Griesbeck (Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe): “That compensation shouldn’t be paid for by the passenger, but by the airline or airport.”
The EP votes about this resolution in early Spring 2012.
